Covid-19 Information

With New York State on "PAUSE" at least through mid-May, we have made the difficult, but necessary decision to officially cancel the Spring 2020 Season and all future (in person) events until further notice. The Board is hopeful the situation improves and the league will have an opportunity to hold events soon; however, please be assured we would only consider this scenario if we were certain it wouldn't compromise the health of our members. 

In the meantime, we encourage everyone in the League to follow guidance from state and local officials regarding social distancing and non-essential gatherings to help "flatten the curve" here in New York. Be sure to connect online or over the phone with friends, family and loved ones to make sure they're getting through these times and if you know anyone on the front lines of this situation (from grocery stores to hospitals to delivery services) be sure to let them know how much you appreciate what they're doing. The League is incredibly thankful for those putting themselves into harm's way to keep the city running.

Since the Spring Season is cancelled, what happens to our registration dues?

Given that many of our members play at least every other season (if not every season), our default plan is to automatically roll-over your registration dues to either the Fall 2020 or Spring 2021 season (whichever comes first). Since your dues have already been paid, all you will need to do next season is just sign up to reserve your spot. 

Additionally, we recognize that some of you may be experiencing your own unprecedented financial hardships due to this pandemic. If this is the case, please contact us at: and we will gladly refund your previously paid registration dues.

What does my registration dues cover each season?

As many of you may know, we are a non-profit organization. Our league is run by a combination of your registration dues and sponsorships. 

Each season, we utilize funds to cover expenses such as: nyc field permits, replacement equipment, team uniforms, liability insurance, national dues, events/parties/socials, referees, equipment storage, misc. tournament expenses, etc.

The current environment for local bars and restaurants (which encompasses the majority of our sponsors) is especially dire for the foreseeable future, and as a result we must prepare in the event they are not able to cover our sponsorship fees until theyâ??ve had a chance to recover from losses due to COVID-19.

What will happen to the Spring 2020 Team Jerseys that were purchased?

Since the Spring 2020 season has been cancelled and the league had to purchase team jerseys in advance of the season opening, we will automatically roll the jerseys over to the Fall 2020 Season

What happens to the team that was drafted for the Spring 2020 Season Team?

We hope to be in position to facilitate a mini-tournament and a series of social events midsummer where those drafted teams will have the chance to potentially play and socialize together.

What happens to the Field Permits that were purchased for Spring 2020?

Each season we have to re-apply and pre-pay for field permits with the New York City/State Parks Departments. Weâ??re in conversations with the parks departments to simply rollover our pre-paid Spring 2020 field permit fees to the Fall 2020 seasons, however all actions are still pending.

Can league members use the city park permits to socialize an/or play pick-up games?

In response to New York State and City directives, all public gatherings in New York City parks are cancelled through June 30 and all permits have been cancelled. As a historical New York City Parks department permit holder, the league has been asked to remind our organization that gatherings of any kind are NOT recommended, including activities such as pick-up games in the city parks or on city fields and/or playgrounds. We all are looking forward to post-pandemic life, and respecting the wishes of city officials who control the issuing of future permits to the league, will only help in getting us back to playing flag football sooner.
